In the run up to the release of our new Pool and Spa Collection brochure, this week’s blog focuses on the innovative bespoke edgings, copings and other special pieces Waxman Ceramics are delighted to be able to offer our customers in 2017.
Safety, style and durability
Creating a custom look which balances safety and durability with style is imperative when designing stunning swimming pool and spa areas, and choosing the correct tiles can help ensure your project is safe, looks special and can withstand years of wear. Now you can achieve an aesthetically pleasing look which meets the relevant safety requirements without sacrificing on design, with custom copings, edgings and gratings available.
These special finishes can be created using any tile within the Pool & Spa Collection, including the Anti-Slip range. This means the same tiles can be used throughout the pool or spa area to create a seamless finish with maximum slip resistance, to cater for the ever evolving design possibilities in spa and pool planning.
Custom-made exclusive finishes
The bespoke edgings, copings and other special pieces can be created in a variety of profiles and special finishes, including round and step edge tread, as well as ‘L’ profile and grooved ‘L’ profile. Customised grating solutions are also available to suit a range of design needs on infinity and regular swimming pools.
The team of tiling experts at Waxman Ceramics takes pride in providing a truly individual service for our customers, complementing an extensive choice and good stock levels with a comprehensive range of exclusive finishes only available from Waxman.
How it works
The tiles are precision-cut using computer controlled, high-pressure water jets operating at around 60,000 psi to cut curves from 2mm to 3,000mm in size and produce a clean, smooth finish. Water jet cutting is a versatile cutting process with several advantages over alternative cutting methods.
Delicate, hard or brittle tiles can safely be cut, and there is no heat damage to surfaces or edges thanks to the cold water used during the process. On most cuts a taper of less than 1 degree can be achieved, however this can be eliminated entirely by reducing the speed of the cutting process.
