As an old coach house dating back to the 17th century, Zizzi opted for the classic unglazed Winckelmans tiles, which work to perfectly completment the Victorian architecture. Both Blue Moon and White unglazed tiles were used for the main seating area and around the bar, whilst Pink and White were selected for the restrooms.

Hard-wearing with a slip resistance value of PTV36+, the combination of blue and white represents the colours of the Henley Regatta – a prestigious rowing event which takes place on the River Thames at Henley each year.

With an objective to capture the true essence of both Heston’s cooking and the glamorous world of travel, as it was known in the 60s – multi-sensory with timeless elegance, the project uses contrasting materials and colours to achieve this and more.

Waxman Architectural provided light blue and white hexagon mosaic tiles that were used to adorn the open fronted kitchen/bar area, pulling in colours that appear throughout the restaurant while offering a stylish facade.

At their peak there were four hundred such cafes in Bombay and their stylish faded elegance has now been captured and brought to London.

A very particular design brief required a traditional product used with a modern twist to achieve spectacular results, in keeping with the distinctive old Bombay style of this new East meets West restaurant.

Waxman Architectural provided a selection of tiles from the Unglazed series for this project, which were cut to a bespoke shape to create a unique geometric inspired pattern that contrasts against exposed wood on floors and walls throughout the eatery.

They provide a cultural, stylish and informal backdrop for cinema goers to enjoy, where more than just films are on offer; rather an arts community that hosts numerous specialist events and screenings.

Waxman Architectural offered a selection of tiles to the project designer that would meet the cinemas unique yet recognisable style and provide an exquisite backdrop that lives up to Curzon Cinemas’ already glowing
reputation.

The tiles chosen were Milano in Ivory and Black. These were used to create a monochromatic, unique pattern on the floor of Curzon Victoria’s main bar, complementing the opulent hues of bronze and deep blue that decorate the
surrounding walls.
