Bruno Court is a Grade II-listed building in the heart of Hackney, London, known for its distinctive Bauhaus-influenced architecture. Waxman Architectural was delighted to be brought on board by Absolute Project Management for an exciting reconfiguration and redesign of two adjoining two-bedroom flats within the building – a project that called for tiling as considered and characterful as the architecture surrounding it.
The clients were clear about their brief: beautiful, well-made tiles in stunning colours that would work in harmony with the building’s Bauhaus style. Winckelmans tiles proved the perfect fit. In ensuite 1, an assorted mix of Winckelmans Black and Super White created a striking, graphic contrast, while ensuite 2 took a bolder approach with the vibrant Old Pink as the tile of choice. In the WC, Winckelmans in Parme was used to create a modern aesthetic that complemented the building’s period character perfectly.
Tiling across all three bathrooms was carried out by Bojart Construction Ltd., who delivered an excellent finish throughout the project, working alongside Absolute Project Management to bring the design to life. The finished spaces were beautifully captured by Helen Rayner of Moon Street Studio – a fitting result for a project that so successfully paired Winckelmans‘ timeless tile ranges with the clean, modernist lines of Bruno Court’s Bauhaus heritage.
