Beginning in 1894, Theophile Wincklemans opened his unglazed tile factory in Lomme in Northern France (Lille). The plan, from the very beginning, was to offer elegant, aesthetic and customisable products that were also versatile and technical. The Winckelmans factory has been awarded the French Living Heritage Business label thanks to its attachment to traditional production methods. Winckelmans offers exclusive French production with unchanging prerequisites: natural raw materials, and handing down of traditional know-how from generation to generation.
