Footasylum Trafford Centre

Footasylum is one of the UK’s leading destinations for streetwear and sneakers, and its Trafford Centre store brings together renowned brands like Nike, Adidas and New Balance alongside cutting-edge exclusive labels. With an inviting, expert-led shopping experience at its core, the store needed flooring that could match its bold retail identity while standing up to the high footfall of one of the UK’s busiest shopping destinations. That’s where Waxman Architectural came in, supplying tiles across three distinct zones of the shop floor.

Footasylum Trafford Centre Wood and Black
Footasylum Trafford Centre Sherwood Floor Mens

For one part of the store, Sherwood Walnut was chosen – a wood-effect tile that brings an earthy, natural warmth to the space. Despite its organic look, the tile is easy to maintain and hard-wearing, making it perfectly equipped to handle the constant footfall of a flagship retail unit.

Footasylum Trafford Centre Terrazzo Floor

For the second part of the shop, Venice Villa in Venice Green was selected, a terrazzo-style tile sourced specifically for this project and the client’s exact requirements. Terrazzo-effect tiles are a popular choice for retail environments, prized for being easy to maintain and for their ability to seamlessly disguise everyday wear and imperfections, keeping the floor looking sharp for longer.

Footasylum Trafford Centre Black Floor

The third section of the floor took on a darker, moodier tone with Flake Black, again sourced specifically to meet the client’s project spec. This tile works brilliantly alongside the other two, creating a clear visual separation between zones in a large, open-plan store, without relying on any physical dividers or fixtures to break up the space.

This was a fantastic project to be part of, and one we’re proud to have delivered. Bringing together three distinct tile styles within one open-plan space, the Footasylum Trafford Centre store shows just how versatile flooring can be in shaping a retail environment – practical, hard-wearing, and full of character.
