Smallshaw is a self-catering retreat set within landscaped grounds, offering guests a peaceful countryside escape alongside a well-appointed spa experience.
Waxman Architectural worked closely with Smallshaw to design a finish that would complement the spa as a whole, rather than treating each room in isolation. With so many distinct spaces under one roof – hot, humid steam and sauna rooms, therapeutic mud and aromatherapy treatments, and an outdoor hot tub exposed to the elements – the collaboration focused on selecting tiles that could perform reliably across each setting while tying the overall look together.
The result is a spa that feels considered and unified, with a finish tailored to the practical demands of each facility without compromising on the calm, cohesive aesthetic guests expect from a dedicated wellness retreat.
