The Ember Lounge sits right at the centre of Rhyl’s promenade, on North Wales’ coastline – a spot that puts it at the heart of one of the region’s best-loved seaside towns. It’s a setting that lends itself naturally to a warm, welcoming interior.

For this project, the bar has been covered with Lisbon Terracotta tiles, bringing a beautiful orangey-brown warmth to the space that anchors the room and sets the tone for the venue’s cosy, inviting feel – a nice contrast to the cooler tones of the seafront outside. In the seated area near the tables, the back of the soft bench has also been tiled, this time in Lisbon Jade, introducing an earthy green that plays off the terracotta beautifully and carries that same warm, natural palette through the rest of the space.
Together, the two tones give The Ember Lounge a distinctive, layered look that feels both contemporary and grounded – a fitting backdrop for a venue that makes the most of its prime position on the Rhyl promenade.
