Dishoom - Covent Garden - London

This West London restaurant draws heavily upon the heritage and tradition of the old Bombay cafes opened by Persian immigrants in the early 20th century. At their peak there were four hundred such cafes in Bombay and their stylish faded elegance has now been captured and brought to London.

A very particular design brief required a traditional product used with a modern twist to achieve spectacular results, in keeping with the distinctive old Bombay style of this new East meets West restaurant.

Waxman Ceramics Architectural Tiles provided a selection of tiles from the Unglazed series for this project, which were cut to a bespoke shape to create a unique geometric inspired pattern that contrasts against exposed wood on floors and walls throughout the eatery.
